Our Story

Axiom Building Services Ltd was formed in 2006 by Jonathan Jones and Stephen Pennington, and has since developed into one of the leading Mechanical and Electrical contractors in the South West region. Covering all aspects of Mechanical and Electrical Services Design, Installation and Maintenance, Axiom Building Services offer a full range of services to the Commercial and Industrial building Industry.

Our aim is to deliver excellence in the planning, design and installation of our projects. With a focus on the quality of our work, we ensure our staff are fully trained and highly skilled to ensure our projects are completed on time, within budget and to the highest standards. We encourage a proctive approach and continually look for ways to improve our capabilities through continued professional development and staff training.

Health & Safety

Health & Safety on site and in the workplace is of upmost importance, and at Axiom building services we are committed to ensuring that that all of our work is carried out as safely as possible. We are a certified Construction line Gold contractor, and we work hard to ensure all of our projects are undertaken in line with current CDM regulations and H&S safety guidelines. We encourage good communication between our management and installation teams so that everyone involved fully understands the procedures and precautions necessary to minimise the risk and hold regular training sessions and toolbox talks to keep everyone up to date. All of our operatives are CSCS registered.

Sustainability

At Axiom building services we are keen to ensure we operate as efficiently as we can. Our environmental policy is continuously reviewed as we look for ways to measure and improve our sustainability performance both on our projects and in how we run our business from day to day.

Meet the Team

Jon is a co-founder and Director of Axiom Building Services and manages the day-to-day operation and long-term strategy of the company, working closely with all departments and managers.

After joining the industry from school in 1986 as an apprentice electrician, Jon has moved through various aspects of commercial M&E services before founding Axiom Building Services in 2006.

Outside of work, Jon is a keen musician who has played in a variety of working bands for many years.

Steve coordinates the estimating, project management and procurement aspects of the business.

Joining the industry in 1998 as an apprentice design & contracts engineer, Steve has a wealth of experience in commercial and industrial mechanical engineering and has been involved in a variety of complex and prestigious projects over the years.

In 2006 Steve co-founded Axiom Building Services and is instrumental in the development of technical and practical solutions across the entire company.

Away from work Steve is a keen golfer, continually looking for ways to improve his handicap in the hope that he will one day get hold of the elusive ‘Axiom Open’ Trophy.

Gavin joined the team in 2008 as a mechanical design engineer before progressing to his current role of Design Director.

With over 25 years experience working within the building services industry, he leads our team of skilled design engineers and is keen to encourage a collaborative and proactive approach to our work.

Away from work, Gavin and his family have recently been approved as care providers, offering respite for families with disabled children. He still manages to find time to train for the occasional triathlon, and has completed a number of Ironman races.

Luke began work as an Electrician in 2004, running his own Electrical Installations business before joining the Axiom team in January 2020.

He has a strong work ethic, vast practical knowledge and technical expertise all of which allow him to turn his hand to any task.

Luke is responsible for the management of the electrical contracts and service/maintenance teams.

In his spare time, Luke volunteers as a youth football coach and works as a Samaritan, providing valuable support to others. Balancing professional achievement with community involvement is something Luke is passionate about.

Maryan has been with Axiom from the very start and as Office Manager, she ensures the smooth administration of both sales and purchases for the whole business.

Her 30 years’ experience in this role and a hard working and friendly approach makes Maryan an essential part of the Company.

Maryan is a family oriented person, and on the odd occasion when she isn’t looking after her grandchildren she will most likely be found partying with her sisters!
