Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Axiom Building Services are a leading design and build contractor operating in the Southwest region. We primarily work on commercial and industrial projects, either for main contractors or direct to end users. Typically, we will be required to develop Stage 3 design intent through to completion, providing sufficient detail to allow projects to be implemented on site. Roles & Responsibilities

As a senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design process from concept through to completion.

• Producing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
• Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
• Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development.
• Conducting site inspections and liaising with our construction team to ensure successful implementation of projects.
• Preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participating in client meetings and presentations to communicate design solutions effectively.
• Heating, Ventilation & Cooling (HVAC)
• Public Health Systems
• Building Management Systems
• Building Energy Modelling and Part L Compliance
• Low Carbon Design

Requirements:

• HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services Engineering or Similar
• Engineering Experience in designing solutions for Commercial and Industrial applications
• CIBSE Membership/Chartered Status (or progressing towards) advantageous, but not essential
• AutoCAD / Revit competence would be advantageous, but not essential.
