Project Omega, Witney

Project Value – £2.85million

Start Date – November 2021

Completion – March 2023

The large production hall was conditioned by means of an all air heating and cooling system, consisting of bespoke air handling plant with DX heating/cooling coils. Offices and core areas were conditioned with a series of VRF systems, with heat recovery ventilation.

Electrical services were designed to maximise future flexibility within the main production space, allowing the end user to make changes to the machinery layout as required to suit the ever changing demand of there production processes.

The whole ethos of the building was for a clean room environment so services were to be coordinated with the walling system, this meant careful planning was required to ensure the installation was practical, maintainable and flexible whilst maintaining the clean room aesthetic.

Energy efficiency was critical to Owen Mumford, in order to reduce both operational costs and carbon footprint. In order to offset carbon emissions a vast PV array was installed on the roof, and alongside this energy efficient plant and equipment and advanced lighting controls were provided. The design of the mechanical and electrical services contributed to the overall scheme obtaining BREEAM certification.

Our team have recently completed the design and installation of the complete mechanical and electrical services installation to this newly constructed production facility for Owen Mumford in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Specialising in the production of pharmaceutical products, this purpose built, 50,000sq.ft facility will provide Owen Mumford with a state of the art building in which to further enhance their capabilities. The building incorporated a large production hall, clean room, 2-storey office accommodation, warehouse storage and an external gardeners store as well as a large car parking area and loading bays for goods in and out.

The project involved the full design, coordination and installation of all HVAC and Electrical services along with some more specialised services such as compressed air, sprinklers and busbar systems necessary for the specific requirements of the building users.
